Tournaments are held in most martial arts across the world. They are a way of promoting and bringing together a martial art and those who practice it. There are many Kuk Sool tournaments each year, in America, Spain and the most relevant to us, The United Kingdom Championships. These are held once a year at the Norwich Sports Village and combined with the evenings 'Masters Exhibition' are a very popular event indeed. Tournaments start around 9:00am and by the time the evening spectacular has finished it can be around 10:30pm. A long and tiring day but always worth the trip. New friendships are forged, old ones reaquainted and plenty of friendly rivalries initiated.
Around the time of the tournament are the yearly black belt testings. The new promotees then take part in the demonstration after recieveing their black belts from Kuk Sa Nim himself, who each year travels to the UK. While here he conducts a handful of seminars around the country. These are always great to attend.
The Kuk Sool Won United Kingdom Championships and Masters Exhibition are always a good time. Why not enter next year?
